Health Support Criteria

Potency

In several instances, the daily intakes for the 49 nutrients and nutrient categories employed by our Blended Standard reflect the need to supplement at levels materially higher than the related dietary reference intakes (DRIs) for these nutrients as developed jointly by the US Food and Nutrition Board and Health Canada. For several nutrients included in the Blended Standard, no DRI levels have yet been established. Wherever possible, NutriSearch has used the median values of intake for a nutrient as recommended by our 12 cited authorities. Where this consensus has not been available, we have relied on the emerging literature.

This criterion assesses how much of each nutrient or nutrient category the product contains compared to the recommended daily intake for that nutrient as determined in our Blended Standard.

For each nutrient in the product, what is the level of potency relative to the potency for that nutrient in the Blended Standard?
